Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is the true heart of Ski Amadé, the largest interconnected ski area in Austria and the second largest one in Europe. A network of twenty-eight ski resorts and towns on the border between Salzburg and Styria offers an incredible 760 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes served by 270 modern lifts.
The location itself combines the traditional Alpine village of Altenmarkt with the purely sporting resort of Zauchensee, which is also famous for its Alpine Ski World Cup races.
Altenmarkt is easily accessible, even from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is located just 2.5 kilometers from the A10 motorway between Salzburg and Villach and directly on a railway line between Schladming and Bischofshofen.

Radstadt (approx. 20 km of slopes, 6 km from Altenmarkt) – a well-organized family resort and a popular toboggan run.
Wagrain – Kleinarl (approx. 115 km of slopes, 15 km from Altenmarkt) – a combination of modern resorts with the Wasserwelt Wagrain attraction.
Schladming–Dachstein (approx. 230 km of slopes, 25 km from Altenmarkt) – the legendary Planai, World Cup night races, and great rock concerts to kick off the ski season.
