Return on Investment / Personal stay

The owners can book their log cabin for 6 weeks a year.

In order to rent the log cabin for accommodation purposes, the owner has two options:

He can sign a contract with a specialised rental company that provides

  • complete marketing support including the promotion through online booking agencies,

  • guest management (reservations, check in&out, handling of payments for accommodation),

  • payment of local taxes and duties, etc.

Depending on the range of services provided, the management company charges a fee of 169 EUR per month or 22% of the total accommodation income.

Alternatively, the owners are allowed to manage the rental of their log cabins by themselves.

Regardless of their choice, the owners can sign up for

  • a caretaker who arranges for the maintenance and minor repairs,

  • a cleaning service after each stay of accommodated guests and each visit of the owner.

Apartment equipment / available services

The construction of the log cabins on a meadow above Sankt Englmar was carefully planned for many years and completed in 2019 with the use of regional craftsmanship practices.

The log cabins were built from fir tree trunks, which retained their natural shape during construction and give a very special charm to the exterior as well as the interior of the log cabins.

All cabins are fully equipped and, thanks to their Alpine-style furnishings, they radiate a rustic coziness, comfort and a pleasant atmosphere. Each log cabin has 2 bedrooms and a large living/dining area with an open kitchen. You can enjoy the sun and natural scenery on the spacious terrace or in your own garden.

Another great place to relax is by a roaring fireplace or in a private sauna, which is available in most log cabins.

St. Englmar and its surroundings

St. Englmar is located at an altitude of 808 m, right in the Bavarian Forest.

The idyllic mountain village is especially popular for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. In the surroundings, there are 74 kilometers of certified cross-country ski tracks of all levels of difficulty, which are often used by the German national team for their training sessions. There is no need to drive anywhere to get to the groomed tracks - they start right next to the log cabins and wind through the surrounding meadows and hills.

Within walking distance from the accommodation complex, there is a small ski resort called Predigstuhl Arena with three kilometers of blue slopes. It does not compare to the size of the Alpine ski areas, but it is very suitable for children and beginners - the German web portal Skigebiete-Test ranked it among the fifteen most popular family ski resorts from all over Germany. Advanced skiers might rather prefer the Pröller ski resort, 5 kilometers away, where red and black slopes can be found. Almost 50 kilometers of hiking trails are groomed even in winter and invite the visitors to stroll through the beautiful snowy landscape.

In the summer, the surroundings of Sankt Englmar with its 150 kilometers of marked hiking trails are perfect for walks, trips and all-day hikes. Those who prefer mountain bikes and e-bikes will also be more than satisfied. Sankt Englmar is also a very popular destination for families with children, thanks to two adventure and leisure parks. One offers summer bobsleigh and toboggan runs, a rope park, adventure golf and many other attractions. The second park offers, among other things, an upside-down house or the "Waldwipfelweg" trail, which leads through the treetops at a height of 30 meters and offers wonderful views.

Accessibility

The fastest route from Prague to Sankt Englmar leads via Folmava, Furth im Wald and Viechtach, is 200 kilometers long and takes approximately 2.5 hours. From Pilsen,

the journey is 90 kilometers shorter and takes about an hour and a half.

It takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours to drive from Bratislava and Brno. The distance from both cities is the same – 440 kilometers, but while the fastest route from Brno leads through Prague, from Bratislava it makes more sense to go via Vienna, Linz and Passau, and to get off the motoway near the town of Schwarzach, less than twenty kilometers before reaching

the destination.
