Austria caps the price of electricity for households at 80 percent of last year's average consumption. Households will pay the normal market price for the consumption exceeding this limit. The government measure thus aims to motivate consumers to save energy.
The Austrian government allocated a total of 2.5 billion euros (61.46 billion CZK) for this measure.
