Oberalm lies in the wide valley of the River Salzach between Salzburg and the historic town of Hallein. Unlike traditional mountain resorts, it offers a perfect combination of peaceful living in an Alpine landscape, excellent transport links, proximity to a major city and easy access to the mountains.
The journey from Oberalm to the centre of Salzburg takes approximately 15–20 minutes by car, while the journey by commuter train takes just a few minutes longer.
Via the A10 motorway, which runs past Oberalm and connects Salzburg with the Ski amadé ski region, you can reach well-known ski resorts such as Flachau, St. Johann or Zauchensee in just under three-quarters of an hour.
A new residential block with six flats, due to be built during 2027 in a quiet location in Oberalm, may therefore be of interest not only to mountain lovers, but also to those who wish to combine skiing, hiking, day trips, culture, gastronomy and city life during their stay in Austria.
