Basic information

Carinthia is one of the most popular touristic destinations of Austria, especially for lovers of mountain hiking, cycling and swimming.

It owes this to a pleasant climate, a large number of hours of sunshine and crystal clear (unusually warm in summer) lakes. At the same time, Carinthia is a popular destination for winter sports fans - among the 3000-meter high mountain peaks, you can find famous ski resorts, such as the Mölltal glacier, Bad Kleinkirchheim, Katschberg or the most renowned of them - Nassfeld.

The natural center of the area between Nassfeld and the popular lakes Weissensee and Pressegger See is Hermagor.

Right in its centre, one of the town houses will be completely rebuilt into a new residential complex with eight apartments designated for permanent residence or unlimited time use of their owners. The reconstruction will take place in 2024.

The new residential complex will meet all requirements for attractive and modern living. The location in the center of the town brings significant advantages, such as:

Nassfeld and the Gailtal valley

The Nassfeld ski resort with its 110 kilometers of slopes lies only 9 kilometers from Hermagor. It boasts the most sunshine hours of all Austrian resorts and also the best coffee - as it is right on the border with Italy.

The Nassfeld ski area can be reached by car in 10 minutes. The Millennium Express cable car will take you directly from the parking lot to one of the highest points of the resort - the Madritschen mountain with an altitude of 1918 meters. From here, wide blue and red slopes suitable for all types of skiers lead towards north, west and east.

Cross-country skiers are also welcome in Nassfeld - there are prepared circuits for them on the Italian side of the Pramollo pass, leading around the eponymous lake.

​The Millennium Express cable car operates in summer as well, and lifts the tourists up to Madritschen where they can start a full-day mountain hike along the ridge of the Carnic Alps or make a pleasant walk around the mountain huts and summer attractions of the Nassfeld resort. The area is also extremely popular for lovers of climbing and secured routes. One of the most beautiful via ferratas in the region is called Däumling, has four rope bridges and is easily reachable by a cable car from the Pramollo pass.

In summer, the Gailtal valley is a paradise for cyclists. For trips along the Gail River or to the surrounding hills, a bike can be combined with a train. Directly from the center of Hermagor, the cycle path will take you to Pressegger See, 6 kilometers away. It is one of

the warmest lakes in the Alps, with its water temperature reaching up to 28 degrees during the months of July and August.

 

Weissensee - another renowned lake and probably the most beautiful one in Austria, can be found about 20 kilometers from Hermagor. Its clear water has the quality of drinking water. You can enjoy wonderful swimming and sunbathing there during summer, and ice skating or curling on the surface of the lake during the winter months.

Finally, we must not forget Italy and Slovenia, which are just "around the corner". From Hermagor, you can go for a swim in the Adriatic Sea or make a pleasant trip to Udine, Ljubljana, Trieste or Venice within one day.
